Frequently Asked Questions
Is Highlands Ranch Learning Center privately owned, a franchise or corporate owned?
Highlands Ranch Learning Center is a privately owned operation and a part of the Bradford Early Education, Ltd. family of schools. Bradford Early Education has been educating children for over 30 years. Each school operates with the principle that every child should receive the best education possible in a safe and nurturing environment with the opportunity to grow in spirit, heart and mind. We are proud to be recognized as the premier provider of early childhood education in our Denver metro area neighborhoods. The Bradford Early Education family spans multiple generations to include former students currently enrolling their children into our program and former students returning as teachers.
How will I know that my child is safe while I am at work?
Highlands Ranch Learning Center is committed to the safety and security of the children and teachers in our school. Our closed-circuit security cameras and secured entry access system at our front door monitors traffic in and out of our center, along with our coded check-in system. In addition to formal security, Directors and staff provide the most effective means of security. Visitors are required to present identification and register in Visitor Logs. Alternate caregivers, authorized by children’s parents, must present identification and password information. In addition, Bradford Early Education developed assurance programs to monitor health and safety policies and procedures, curriculum guidelines and program standards at Highlands Ranch Learning Center. Comprehensive reviews are often performed weekly and are unannounced; in addition to state licensing visits.
What security measures are taken when releasing children?
Highlands Ranch Learning Center has a written sign-in / sign-out log and password procedures. With a parent or guardian’s permission only, a child may be released to an alternate caregiver who presents two forms of identification (one must be a picture ID). Please call and speak to our Director for more details or questions on this procedure.
How will I know what’s happening during my child’s day?
At Highlands Ranch Learning Center, our parents are always welcome to visit or call during the day. Our teachers are dedicated to keeping an open line of communication with parents. Daily notes are sent home to parents of children who are in diapers or potty-training and weekly notes are sent home to every family in our school. Your child’s teacher will describe all of the fun and educational activities they participated in, and additionally there will be information about upcoming events or items needed from home.
Is there an open door policy that allows me to visit my child during the day?
We welcome family members and friends to visit throughout the day! We do ask if your child is between the ages 1-4 that you do not come during naptime hours. However, we encourage you to be a part of your child’s day for playground time, swimming lessons, lunch, or play time!
Will my child be challenged academically at Highlands Ranch Learning Center?
At Highlands Ranch Learning Center, we think the best academic preparation is to encourage your child’s enthusiasm for learning. Teachers who have a keen interest in your child’s success create lesson plans based on Bradford Early Education in-house B.E.E. Curriculum Guidelines. By providing individual attention in a small group setting, our teachers work to nurture each child’s confidence. Learning to ask questions, discovering cause and effect, negotiating fair play and making new friends are all academic building blocks.
Does Highlands Ranch Learning Center offer nutritious meals and snacks?
Yes, we offer a delicious breakfast, a morning snack, a hot home-made lunch with fruits and veggies and milk, and an afternoon snack every day! These meals are included in your tuition rate. Menus are on a weekly rotation, and are always available at the front desk or in your child’s classroom.
What daily outdoor activities will my child get to participate in?
At Highlands Ranch Learning Center, our playground is considered an extension of the classroom. In addition to running, jumping and climbing, teachers plan nature walks, picnics and other learning opportunities. Weather permitting, children play outside every day! In the summer, pre-school age children and up also are encouraged to use the in-ground swimming pool staffed by two licensed life guards for safety.
Do you offer Enrichment programs (extra-curricular)?
We believe children learn best when they are given the opportunity to play. Our selection of enrichment programs can broaden horizons and open up a new world of fun and learning!
How flexible are the schedules you offer?
You may choose the schedule that works best for you and your child. Children can come to Highlands Ranch Learning Center at the time of their choosing, though we do most of our curriculum integration between the hours of 9:00am and 12:00pm. In addition, we offer schedules for as few as two days, or as many as five days a week. During the summer months, Highlands Ranch Learning Center also offers a Summer Camp program for school-age children!

Parents Say:
"We absolutely LOVE HRLC and the staff. I couldn’t ask for a better facility to leave my child at. They have made it easier on me with the decision to leave my child at daycare. I checked out other facilities before seeing HRLC and when I visited here I knew it would be great for my child. I couldn’t be happier with my decision."
Jen K., Denver, CO
"The infant care offered at HRLC is one of a kind. Being first time parents, we couldn’t have asked for more patience and understanding. Not only with our new son, but with us as well!"
Rachel A., Highlands Ranch, CO
"My child entered HRLC and came from an in-home daycare at 4 years old. I was a little concerned with the transition into a busy, stimulating class. He has THRIVED from day one and is much happier. I only wish I had transferred him earlier!"
Rebecca F., Highlands Ranch, CO
"I put my first child in HRLC about six years ago, and now have my last child working her way through the classes. Even after six years, I still see all the familiar faces in management and appreciate how they keep things exciting for the kids. The education structure, the activities, the meals and right down to the discipline techniques… It’s all been wonderful for my kids!"
Lisa P., Littleton, CO
"We have been so pleased with the care and love all of our children have received. They love going to school and have developed very close relationships with their teachers. All your staff is wonderful, especially those whom my children have had. I always feel comfortable that my children are receiving the best care in a nurturing environment."
Charles N., Highlands Ranch, CO
"With having to place our precious and tiny babies in to someone else’s care while we work, it is always a concern that our children are getting the best care possible. We believe that at HRLC, our boys got the best possible care."
Tracy L., Highlands Ranch, CO
"Thanks for making HRLC such a great place for my kids to grow up."
H.L., Littleton, CO
